2018 UAlbany Alumni Game

We got our first look at the 2019 UAlbany Men’s Lacrosse team today, as they scrimmaged former Danes in the program’s annual Alumni Game.  The current Danes came out on top over a star studded alumni team, which included current/past MLL players Adam Osika, Justin Reh, John Maloney, Tim Cox, and Kyle McClancy, as well as other recent Albany stars JD Colarusso, Bennett Drake, Eli Lasda, Derrick Eccles, and more.

While we didn’t keep stats, several of young Danes scored, or otherwise showed strong play at both ends of the field.  Among them, Jakob Patterson continued to demonstrate his ability to get to the goal, and freshman Teioshontathe McComber played with a flair that will have fans watching him on replays in the spring.

The current Danes next welcome the Hill Academy for a scrimmage on Monday October 8th at 8:00 PM (NOTE: this is a new date) in Casey Stadium, before hosting the Nicholas Colleluori Lacrosse Classic on Saturday October 13, 2018, where Albany will scrimmage Johns Hopkins at 11:00 AM and Army-West Point at 1:15 PM.

As reported by Michael Kelly of the Daily Gazette earlier this week, Tehoka Nanticoke is not at UAlbany this fall due to personal reasons.  While expected to return in the spring, Nanticoke’s immediate absence from the team will give some other players the opportunity to make an impression on the UAlbany coaching staff at these scrimmages, in the hopes of defining their roles as the season approaches.
